Yesterday marked the last meeting of the external affairs committee at the Royal Academy of Engineering. Whilst normal tenure on a committee is three years, I’ve somehow managed six? Three years as a direct member and then three as a secondee, having been chair of the Ingenious Awards which also finishes for me this year.
