In 1989, a pelican began going every day to a daycare in Japan, where it played with the children as if it were one of them. Katta-kun, a pink pelican flew daily from Tokiwa Park in Ube, Japan, to play and hang out with children from a nearby daycare. Katta-kun was born in 1985 through the first artificial incubation of his species in Japan, grew up surrounded by humans, and became very sociable, taking part in activities like dancing to music and playing ball with the kids.
