My grandfather was a hero of mine. He was the school caretaker and I spent most of my long summers with him ensuring schools were ready for the return of teachers. He took such great pride in teacher classrooms being ready for them to do their 'great work'! I left Ireland in 2000 to go to university in England, and then to teach, lead & serve at International schools in Thailand, The UAE, China, Qatar.
