Russian Major General Mykola Varpakhovych was shot in the head today by an unknown attacker. The Russian soldier is responsible for an airstrike on a childrens’ cancer hospital in Kyiv in July 2024 which killed two and wounded 16, including 7 children. Varpakhovych is the commander of Russia’s 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division. He was shot today near his unit’s airbase in Engels and is now in critical condition.
